Reinterpretando la colección del Museo Carrillo Gil, una exposición temporal que se llevó a cabo de enero a abril de 2012, fue resultado de un proyecto conjunto entre el oosgrado en historia del arte de la UNAM, el Museo de Arte Contemporáneo Alvar y Carmen T. de Carrillo Gil y la Americas Society de Nueva York. En esta iniciativa tres estudiantes del posgrado expresaron sus reflexiones respecto del panorama de la violencia en el mundo contemporáneo con particular referencia al escenario mexicano actual, mediante la aproximación diversificada al escenario de lo político, del cuerpo y la psique, y aquella propiciada por la civilización. Las obras elegidas dieron vida a la experiencia de la violencia que destruye y aliena cuerpo y mente; violencia que somete y amenaza el destino de las sociedades y aquella que se sufre en el silencio de la intimidad. |

Reinterpreting the collection at the Carillo Gil Art Museum, a temporary exhibition showing from January to April 2012, was the result of a joint project between the UNAM’s postgraduate Art History course, the Contemporary Art Museum Alvar y Carmen T. de Carrillo Gil and the Americas Society, New York. In this project, three postgraduate students expressed their reflections on violence in the modern world, with particular emphasis on the current situation in Mexico, by approaching different themes like politics, the body and the psyche and those propitiated by civilization. The works selected gave life to violence that destroys and alienates the body and mind, violence that subdues and threatens the fate of society and violence that is suffered in the intimacy of silence.</p> |
